Psychotherapy
It is the capacity to dream dreams and see visions, to consider diverse possibilities, and to endure the tension involved in holding these possibilities before one's attention.

Therapy is a unique collaborative relationship. I am continually inspired by the healing power of
this relationship. My work is informed by the belief healing occurs when a person feels truly
heard and understood. Trust is the integral component needed in order for this healing to take
place.
My approach draws from Existentialism.
Existentialism posits that not only is each individual unique, each encounter is unique. Under this
lens a person is viewed as someone who is always becoming, instead of a static preconception of
who we think the person should be.
From the Existentialist perspective, problems are not seen as something to overcome; rather
problems are seen as something that is holding you back from your potential. It is my objective to
assist you in finding what keeps you from embracing who you were meant to be. Existentialism as
a therapeutic approach aims to help a person bring forth something from within so as to
experience his or her own unique existence.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I have a Master's degree in Psychology from
Seattle University. My Bachelor's degree is also in Psychology, with a minor in Culture Studies
from Antioch University.
My experience as a psychotherapist has connected me with clients of diverse backgrounds,
cultures and experiences. I have worked locally in community agencies providing therapy for folks
with mental health and substance abuse issues. My work has also brought me to Belize, Central
America where I provided therapy and advocacy for domestic violence survivors, as well as social
education as part of a project to combat HIV/AIDS. My training is continuous. To enhance my skills
and provide the best care for my clients I attend pertinent workshops as they become available.
Prior to becoming a psychotherapist I worked for 10+ years in commercial real estate. Desiring
more than a paycheck, I made a life-altering decision to seek a career that I could be passionate
about. After some stumbling, I found a career that feels right. The search lead me to who I was
meant to be.
I seek a well-balanced life; meaning as much as I love this work, my family, friends and personal
interests do not take a back seat to this work. I recommend the same for my clients.
